At Deglow’s Doxies, our dogs are raised right in our home as part of our daily lives—not in a storefront with visiting hours. Because of that (and because our dogs would absolutely abuse their celebrity status), we do not allow any in-home visits under any circumstances.

We know it’s natural to want to come meet all the puppies and pick one out in person—trust us, we’d want to snuggle them all too. But modern canine behavioral science and responsible breeding practices show that this approach isn’t actually the best way to choose the right puppy.

So while we promise lots of adorable updates, we also promise this:

No in-home visits — no exceptions.

Why this policy exists:

Health & Biosecurity
Our puppies are tiny, developing little beings with immature immune systems. Even the most well-meaning visitor can unknowingly bring in illnesses like parvo or kennel cough on shoes, clothing, or hands. We take the “better safe than sorry” approach very seriously.

Low-Stress Development
Puppies thrive in calm, consistent environments. A revolving door of visitors may sound fun, but it can actually create stress and overstimulation during some of their most important developmental stages.

Science-Based Placement (Not “Pick of the Litter”)
Despite what you may have seen elsewhere, choosing a puppy based on a short visit isn’t a reliable way to predict personality or long-term fit. Puppies are constantly changing at this age, and that one bold moment you see might just be a nap skipped or a burst of energy.

We spend weeks observing each puppy’s temperament—confidence, energy level, social behavior, and more—so we can make thoughtful matches based on your lifestyle.
